Balancing work and life
We understand that you need time for things other than work. That's why we offer a wide range of ways you can do your job, such as working from home, working flexible hours and purchasing extra leave.
General leave options
We have many types of leave available to support you through various life events and help you to maintain a healthy work-life balance. These include annual leave, an extended leave scheme, leave without pay, long service leave, compassionate leave and purchased leave.
If you have a baby or adopt a child, we will support you with parental leave options.
We value your work in the community, and we will give you leave to donate blood, take part in cultural and ceremonial events, serve in the defence reserve, serve on a jury, participate in sporting events, and volunteer in the community or help out during emergencies.
Family violence leave
We recognise that employees sometimes experience violence or abuse in their personal life that make it hard to attend or perform at work.
Our family violence leave gives affected employees the financial and wellbeing support to deal with the stress and trauma of family violence, and allows them to attend medical appointments, legal proceedings and support services.
We are also working towards receiving White Ribbon Accreditation to end men's and boys' violence against women and girls, promote gender equality, healthy relationships and a new vision of masculinity.
Mental health and wellbeing
We offer a range of events, initiatives and resources throughout the year to support our people to manage their mental health and wellbeing (both in and out of the workplace).
Carers' / wellbeing rooms
If you need a quiet place for yourself or for family members you're caring for, you can use our carers' and wellbeing rooms. These rooms can be used for short-term rest, prayer, for breast feeding or if you're feeling unwell.
Coaching and counselling
Employees can get personalised coaching and counselling services from the Employee Assistance Program (EAP), which helps with work-related and personal problems affecting you or your family. All services are confidential and available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. You can use them when you are at work or from home or elsewhere.
