Small Business Victoria on the job in the Latrobe Valley

The Victorian Government, through Small Business Victoria (SBV), is helping local Latrobe Valley entrepreneurs navigate the digital maze.

In partnership with Latrobe City Council, SBV's workshop 'Your Business in a Digital World', led by Tim Gentle, taught participants new digital skills in identifying and contacting clients and markets.

Tim Gentle is a Small Business Victoria workshop leader, and an expert in digital strategy, marketing, online marketing, social media, web and app development, and web analytics. He is contracted by SBV to run the workshops.

The workshop is one of the ways SBV helps small business owners and operators 'Plan, Start and Grow' their business.

For the calendar year of 2016, SBV helped over 50,000 business operators with:

  • 450 training workshops to over 4,600 business operators, on 22 business topics including financial literacy, marketing, planning, employment.
  • 4000 business mentoring sessions with experienced business advisors.
  • 332 small business bus visits to 252 locations, assisting 6700 people with free information and advice.
