The department works with a range of ministerial advisory bodies across its portfolio areas of responsibility. It includes some of the following:
Animal welfare advisory committee
The Victorian Government has established the Animal welfare advisory committee (AWAC) to provide the minister with expert and strategic advice on animal welfare related issues.
Creative state advisory board
The Creative state advisory board has been appointed to provide advice on aspects of strategy and implementation in support of Victoria's new Creative Industries Strategy, Creative State.
Defence council Victoria
The Defence Council Victoria advises and guides the government on strategies and initiatives to develop and sustain unique capabilities within Victoria's defence industry. Its members represent a broad range of experience across defence operations, equipment acquisitions and business and commercial practice.
Earth resources ministerial advisory council
A reformed Earth resources ministerial advisory council will provide strategic advice on the sustainable development of Victoria's mining and resources industry.
Regional development advisory committee
The Regional development advisory committee is an independent committee established to provide advice to the minister, undertake research and consult stakeholders on the development of rural and regional Victoria.
Technical review board
The Technical review board is a team of experts with international mining experience. The Technical review board provides strategic advice to the government in the areas of mine and quarry stability, rehabilitation and other strategic risks, specifically in relation to reducing risks to the environment, public safety and infrastructure.
Young farmers ministerial advisory council
The Victorian Government has established the Young farmers ministerial advisory council to give young people a strong voice in agriculture.
Wine industry ministerial advisory committee
The Victorian Government established a Wine industry ministerial advisory committee to advise the minister on opportunities for and issues affecting the long term performance and sustainability of the Victorian wine industry.
Victorian international education ministerial advisory roundtable
The Victorian international education ministerial advisory roundtable was established to provide a regular opportunity for international providers, peak bodies, students and the state government to share information on matters impacting upon the performance and growth of the sector.
