Fellowships

The Victorian Government provides various fellowships each year, with the aim of strengthening Victoria's innovation capability and global networks while developing individual capabilities. These include the Victorian Fellowships and the Victorian Postdoctoral Research Fellowship.

Agriculture and fisheries

Young farmers scholarship program

Young farmers in Victoria can access scholarships of up to $10,000 to help boost skills and implement new on-farm initiatives.

Food Source Victoria

Food Source Victoria offers grants for food producers and businesses to develop growth plans, support export growth and create quality jobs. It also offers scholarships for professionals in regional agri-food businesses.

Horticulture innovation fund

The Horticulture innovation fund supports industry to partner with research organisations on projects that use new technologies and techniques for improving overall economic performance.

Wine growth fund

The Wine growth fund offers grants that support initiatives to develop the Victorian wine industry.

Rural women's award

The Rural women's award recognises the contribution Victorian women make to primary industry and rural communities.

Recreational fishing grants program

The Recreational fishing grants program disburses revenue from the sale of recreational fishing licences to projects that will improve recreational fishing in Victoria.

Stronger fishing clubs grants program

The Stronger fishing clubs grants program provides an opportunity for eligible angling clubs to access up to $2,000 to promote membership.

Cultural and creative economy

Funding and support

Creative Victoria offers a range of funding and support to develop Victoria's creative industries. Programs and initiatives are available to support individual artists, small and large arts organisations, and arts and cultural programs. They include funding for the arts, design, games and screen sectors, as well as grants to support creativity in schools, Indigenous professional development, and innovative marketing projects.

iAwards

The iAwards are the premier awards program for innovation in the Australian digital economy and are sponsored by the Victorian Government. The awards recognise and reward the efforts of home-grown, innovative problem solvers.

Premier's Design Awards

The Premier's Design Awards recognise and reward Victorian designers and businesses using design effectively and sustainably.

Events funding

The Victorian Government provides funding for a range of business events, major events and regional events, through its tourism marketing and events company, Visit Victoria.

Regional Development Victoria (RDV) grant programs

Infrastructure projects under the visitor economy stream of the regional infrastructure fund must attract increased visitors to the region and deliver an improved experience for those who visit and reside in regional Victoria.

Tourism demand driver infrastructure program

The Australian Government, through the Tourism Demand Driver Infrastructure (TDDI) Program, has allocated funding for the development of tourism infrastructure. The department administers Victoria's allocation. Applications for this year are now closed.

TARGET initiative

The TARGET minerals exploration initiative is a Victorian Government initiative designed to increase investment in exploration for base metals and gold in Victoria.

Regional Development Victoria grants program

Regional Development Victoria's grants program supports regional councils, business and other organisations in developing and facilitating investment, creating jobs, and increasing the number of innovative enterprises in regional Victoria.

Small business

'Grow Your business' grants

Grow Your Business is a program designed to help small businesses develop and implement strategies to become internationally competitive. A range of planning and management services are offered.

Businesses can engage the services of an independent specialist to undertake either one-on-one or group programs. Businesses can apply one or more of the following program streams:

Trade and investment

Governor of Victoria Export Awards (GOVEA)

In its 37th year, the Governor of Victoria Export Awards celebrate the innovation and hard work of exporters across a range of sectors including agribusiness, business services, creative industries, digital technologies, e-commerce, education and training, environment, health and biotechnology, manufacturing, minerals, energy and regional development.

Hamer scholarships program

The Hamer scholarships program, which focuses on language and cultural immersion, is designed to build the Asia-engagement capabilities of Victorians. The program provides scholarships for Victorians to undertake intensive language study at nominated universities or institutions in China, Indonesia, Japan and Korea.

There are a variety of scholarships for international students in Victoria.

Victorian International Education Awards

The Victorian International Education Awards reward outstanding achievement and excellence in international education in Victoria.

Victorian Manufacturing Hall of Fame Awards

The Victorian Manufacturing Hall of Fame recognises excellence in manufacturing. There are a number of categories under which manufacturers can submit nominations including the Victorian Manufacturing Hall of Fame Honour Roll. 

Transport and infrastructure

Boating safety and facilities program

The boating safety and facilities program is a state government funding program that plays an important role in making boating safer and more accessible for all Victorians. The program has a total of $8 million in funding to distribute to projects across the state.

Applications have closed for the 2015-16 round.
