Accessible Public Transport Action Plan 2013-17

The Victorian Government is committed to providing public transport services that are well connected and accessible to all members of the community.

The Accessible Public Transport Action Plan 2013-17 is a strategy for delivering accessible bus, train, tram and taxi services throughout Victoria.  It aims to ensure all Victorians can access public transport including people with disabilities, the elderly and those travelling with children.

The Action Plan sets out the steps the Government is taking to improve access to public transport and contributes to the Victorian State Disability Plan 2013-2016 and complies with the Federal Government's Disability Discrimination Act 1992.

Over the past 10 years, public transport agencies have identified and addressed a number of barriers to accessing public transport services for those with a disability or mobility restriction.
