Transport legislation and regulation

The department develops regulatory policy, legislation and regulations on behalf of the Minister for Public Transport, the Minister for Roads and the Minister for Ports.

The Transport Integration Act is Victoria's principal transport Act, bringing together the whole transport portfolio under one statute for the first time.

Transport safety legislation details the legislation which affects safety of the transport sector, including bus safety, marine safety and rail safety.
