Marine Safety Regulations
The Marine Safety Regulations 2012 (Vic) which accompany the Marine Safety Act 2012 (Vic) came into effect on1 July 2012.
The Regulations are designed to:
- improve compliance with marine safety laws
- reduce the number of injuries
- ensure a safe environment for recreational and commercial boating.
The relevant transport safety infringements and penalties under the new regulations can be found on the Automatic indexation of fees and penalties page.
There will be no changes to current boat licensing arrangements because of these new Regulations.
The Regulations were designed after an extensive public consultation process.
