Multi Purpose Taxi Program Review

The Multi Purpose Taxi Program is an important service to support Victorians and a critical part of ensuring our transport system is accessible to all. The Victorian Government is reviewing the program and considering how to improve transport for people with limited mobility.

Consultation on the program ran from Tuesday 29 September to Friday 4 December 2015 to ensure everyone could have their say before a decision is made.

Feedback was collected at public and industry workshops, over the phone, via email or mail, and through an online survey.

We heard from people across Victoria including program users, carers, disability advocacy groups, local councils, community groups, and the transport industry.

Consultation closed on Friday 4 December 2015, thank you to everyone who contributed during consultation.

Next steps

Information collected during consultation will help inform the final recommendations to be delivered to the Minister for Public Transport in 2016. The Minister for Public Transport will then make a decision on future action. Those who have contributed feedback during consultation will be advised when a decision is made.

Review publications

To find out more about the MPTP review you can download an overview brochure or the discussion paper below. These cover our ideas to improve the Multi Purpose Taxi Program and other initiatives that we think might improve the transport experiences of Victorians with limited mobility.

During consultation we collected people's feedback on these ideas and also listened to their own ideas on how to improve transport for mobility-limited Victorians.

Information collected during consultation will help inform the final recommendations to the Minister for Public Transport in 2016.
