Calling all business owners… Victoria's Small Business Festival has returned! (And it is huge!)
In its 13th year, Small Business Festival 2018's month-long program with hundreds of events running from 1 to 31 August all across Victoria, and even online.
This giant program (it's the country's largest) brings together local business owners and managers from all walks and industries – from retailers to farmers, restauranteurs to freelancers.
Events such as training workshops, mentoring sessions and keynote speakers create opportunities for local small businesses learn, generate ideas, connect with other businesses, and thrive in Victoria's dynamic economy.
Every year, the Festival continues to evolve with purpose.
In 2018, it focuses on 5 key topics:
- Aboriginal and indigenous businesses
- women and female business owners and managers
- social purpose, inclusion and multicultural businesses
- digital innovation
- businesses with global aspirations
Of course, favourites such as starting a business, marketing keynote events, business basics and networking still dominate the program, with more of these events now taking place in regional and rural Victoria where there are often not many such opportunities for world-class events.
Partnerships played a big role too in the form of fantastic marquee events such as CommBank's brilliant Innovation Garage series, Australia Post's Grow Your Business Roadshow, Flying Solo LIVE (first time in Melbourne), Business Chick's 9 to Thrive expo showcasing great speakers, and even specialised workshops at the juggernaut retail tradeshow Reed Gift Fair.
There's so much packed into one mega month of August (and some of September too at the Digital Innovation Festival).
