International visitor survey results
The latest international visitor survey results show international visitors are continuing to enjoy all that Victoria has to offer. The results for the year ending June 2016 show:
- international visitors to regional Victoria increased strongly by 21.2 per cent
- Melbourne experienced strong year-on-year growth in international spend (+19.7 per cent) and visitors (+12.6 per cent)
- international visitor expenditure in regional Victoria increased by 8.4 per cent.
Tourism is a significant economic driver for Victoria. In 2014-15 tourism in Victoria was estimated to be worth $21.7 billion to the economy and employed approximately 210,400 people.
