Provide strategic advice on priority science, technology and innovation issues

Science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) policy
  • Deliver stakeholder workshop on improving participation in science and maths in secondary schools
  • Develop action plan to align and connect stakeholder groups and provide input into STEM Strategy
  • Reconvene stakeholder group to explore progress
  • Stronger connections between organisations engaged in delivery of science and maths activities and greater alignment of initiatives

  • Universities engage with the department on government investment attraction and trade strategies
  • Opportunities associated with international activities and events supported by the Victorian Government are maximised
University – business engagement
  • Engage universities with business opportunities arising from procurement
  • Test new models of university business engagement
  • Support the Victorian Chamber of Commerce and Industry 'Ignite' program
  • Universities engage with business on government procurement projects
  • University-business engagement for science and investment is increased
  • More businesses developing solutions by accessing university capability
  • Multiple-pathways for business university involvement are created

Promote and advocate the importance of STEM across the economy
